Chris Clements was born in Christchurch, New Zealand in 1972.
In 1994 he moved to Wellington where he began exhibiting and by 2000 had diversified his practice from painting into assemblage, sculpture and installation.
He has exhibited throughout New Zealand, has lived in Indonesia and now resides and shows in Melbourne and Sydney, Australia, where he continues a studio based practice and makes large scale wall-works.
